Bangladesh is a
country of festivals. There are many common festivals in this country. Some of
these are religious, some are cultural festivals and seasonal.

My
experience to take part in some events and festivals in my locality:
Pahela
Boishakh :
About six or seven years ago, I celebrate my Pahela Boishakh in my village. Our
village was beautifully decorated to celebrate the first day of the Bengali New
Year. I wake up early in the morning and have a bath. I wear Panjabi and Pajamas
which are nicely decorated.
Independence
Day :
During the last year in my school premises, I take part in our Independence Day
festival. Our school arranged a cultural program on this day. The whole program
was so impressive and it was a great festival in my life. I got a lot of
pleasure in this events.
Pohela
Falgun :
Pohela
falgun is one of the most popular day in Bengali culture. Generally, this day
is held on the 13th of
February. This is the first day of spring . On this day I wear yellow
Panjabi.
Eid-Ul-Fitr : This
is most joyful occasion of all
Muslims across the country. Even the non-muslims likes to join the celebration
of Eid with everyone. For this special
day, the Muslim believers performed fasting for 30 days.
Durga
Puja :
Durga
puja is an annual festival for Hindu believers. This occasion comes at the
Bangla month Ashwin and it held first 10 days of Aswin.

How
do these events and festivals shape me and my nation :
A festival is an
event ordinarily celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic
aspect of that community and its religion or culture. Festivals are a huge part
of our culture. Each festival has its own style and characteristics. Festivals
play an important role in building national unity. Festivals are the bearers of
culture. They divert people's attention from their demanding lives and amuse
them in their leisure time. During festivals celebration, people meet each
other and forget the enmity and become friends. Festivals reduce in equality
between rich and poor and creates social values. In this way, the festival
binds the nation together and gives a new shape to the nation.
Festival is for everyone my justification for this
statement is as follows:
Festivals are an
expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture, and traditions.
They are meant to rejoice in special moments and emotions in our lives with our
loved ones. They play an important role to add structure to our social
lives and connect us with our families and backgrounds. All different
religious festivals bring the same message of love, tolerance and
understanding. Overall in simple terms, universally all festivals are
related to harmony, peace and happiness.
